Hi, last month our vet bills topped $14,100. We are currently $5,000 short to pay that bill that is due in 2 weeks and I need your help. I have asked that we not take in any more dogs from out-of-state and that we accept only the healthiest, most adoptable Colorado dogs until our finances are under control. We do our very best to ensure the dogs we accept are healthy and do not have chronic issues, but that doesnt always work out so we are stuck with dogs that consume thousands of dollars by the time they are adopted out. Sure, we can always euthanize them, but its really not an option that I would consider for a dog that can get healthy given the right care. I know you volunteer because you love Cockers and want to save them and give them a better life. Can you think of any way to help RMCR pay its bills? Is there anything you are willing to do to help? Can you sell some calendars at $15 each? Can you encourage people to get a King Soopers Gift Rewards card from us for $2.50 and reload it every time they purchase groceries so we can get 5%? Do your employers match donations from their employees? Do you have contacts at companies that do match their employees donations? Do you have a lot of loose change on the dresser or in a jar that you can cash in and send me the money? Can you donate money to RMCR? Each and every one of you have talents that could be put to good use at RMCR, but you probably havent offered them because no one has asked you. We are in serious need of people who know how to market and how to fundraise. Without consistent and effective fundraising and marketing, RMCR will cease to exist. If you dont have those talents, do you know someone who does? No one should have to do this alone; we need teams of people coming up with ideas and implementing them. Please, Im begging you, our lifeblood of the rescue, to help us save dogs and get them healthy. Help us stay in the rescue business. This is not an empty plea. I am not employed right now and Mike is in the process of retiring, so I cannot afford to pay off the balance on the credit card every month that RMCR doesnt have the funds. I will close the rescue before I allow it to go into debt. We have enough volunteers that we should be able to sustain this rescue every single month and continue to save lives. Without YOUR help...yes, YOUR PERSONAL HELP...we will fail in our mission and will close our doors. Are you up for the challenge? Kathryn Glass, President Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue, Inc.
