Hi people, been ages since i was on these streets. Hope yall have been awesome. Today, i woke up feeling quite nice, refreshed, happy and ready to face the week ahead. Despite being on a Monday, i had no Blues, as they say, having had a relaxed Sunday, (Saturday was quite something though). I jetted off to work. On getting to town, i boarded another Jav to my place of work but along the way, something disheartening happened. I was sitted just behind the driver. Sitted at the front of the car with the driver, was some lady and a guy (must have been his boyfriend going by the constant discussions they were having). While stuck at a jam, there was a maasai guy (with red shukas and wearing inkinyiara) walking along the road carrying some liquid thingy in a container (preferably those concoctions they sell them or sth). This lady together with his guy, started discussing How Maasais have purportedly sold their lands in Kajiado (especially) and are now roaming the streets of Nairobi with no shoes or clothing, only a pair of worn out shukas and some kala (as she put it) and nowhere to go while the Kikuyus and other bright tribes have put investments in their lands. By this time the driver joined the conversation and it became quite a debate among the three of them with the driver turning to using some vulgar language (with a heavy Kikuyu accent) that, Wamaasai sijui ni watu waliumbwa namna gani. Hawafikirii na akili zao na walipewa akili na mungu bure. Sasa hizo mashamba zote wanauza na mtu anaachwa bila hata an 1/8th of an acre, hata sa hii hawana mahali pa kulisha ngombe zao, wanakuja tu kusumbua watu Nairobi na kuwa wezi. Heri hata wangefukuzwa hii Nairobi vile Waititu alisema. I couldnt utter a word albeit being so mad and itchy to intercept the otherwise ballooning discussion. I was left disgusted but then again, could this people be right especially on the land question? (except of course what that retard of a driver was saying).
