Hi there! Its me, Reese! Wanna hear my story? Im about two or three years old and a Mountain Cur mix. Back on March 6th, some people from animal control picked me up. Next thing you know, Im at the Darlington County Humane Society shelter in South Carolina. Trust me, that was no hotel! With all the noise at the shelter, I would lay low until I saw visitors, and then Id come out to greet them. Dogs came and went all the time, but no one was interested in me. I found out that I was heartworm positive. That didnt sound good. I suppose thats one of the reasons I was placed on the shelters Put To Sleep list for April 16th. Just as I was about to give up all hope, on April 11th, One Life to Live Rescue and Adoption in Pennsylvania agreed to take me! I was told that this was all made possible because a group called RADAR was covering the cost of my heartworm treatment. On May 7th, I received my heartworm treatment. That was no fun at all! Instead of having to go back to the noisy and crowded shelter to recover from my treatment, I got to go to boarding camp! This was all made possible thanks to Melissa Feeney, a very kind and generous lady who donated to RADAR to cover my boarding costs until June 14th when I will head to Pennsylvania. Ive been told that Im a love bucket! And, that Im so calm, cool and very friendly. I can make anyones day brighter. I heard that I was a favorite with the shelter staff and volunteers. I get along swell with all dogs, both high-energy dogs and calm dogs. I completely ignore cats!
