Hi there! Ive been part of this group for a little over a month and really feel that some of you might be able to help! Im not exactly sure if this would be considered a fearful or behavior related problem but figured i could use some tips. My 1 year old, 45 lb pitbull/border collie mix absolutely hates to have her nails trimmed. Right when she sees the clippers come out she freaks and runs away. We have taken her to multiple groomers and vets and only one of them is able to get her nails cut... 2 groomers and 3 other volunteers later... They do muzzle her because she growls and sometimes nips but has never drew blood, she actually gives kisses and is completely fine after they are done. When they finally start to cut the nails she screams and howls at the top of her lungs, trying to get away. The whole process usually takes about an hour... It stresses her and everyone else involved and i hate to take her, but it has to be done. Does anyone have any tips to help her be less stressed out? (We have tried to do it at home to no avail... She has no problem going to the facility because she loves the people, just not the nail trim) P.S. The facility we take her too is also her doggie daycare place, so sometimes we do the trim after a few hours of play to tire her out (also dosent work) Thank you in advance!!
