Hi there people. Im after some advice please. My van ( 2001 t4 1.9td) has been running fine all summer with engine temp sitting at 90 no matter what I do with heating, it has been getting up to temperature well and sitting in the middle all day long. Last week I noticed that it was sitting at one bar below 90 yesterday when driving for about 15-20 minutes on dual carriageway way it didnt get up above one bar of heat (70?) When I idle it or sit in traffic it is still getting to the same as it was all summer, so Im not thinking thermostat isnt working. When it is up to temperature and I turn on the heating the temperature gauge drops slightly as well. I have added about a litre of so if plain water over the course of the summer, could it be the antifreeze mix isnt strong enough for the colder weather? Any ideas? Im guessing that it wont do it any harm running a little colder? Thank you inadvance.
