Hidden Hispanic Heritage Dear Mr. Perez, I hope you get the chance to visit the Hispanic Society of America. I recently discovered my extensive Huntington lineage, My Grandmother, (1.3.4.2.5.11.3.1) was descended from Simons fourth child, Joseph. Henry (1.3.6.7.6.2.2.4) was descended from Simons sixth child, Both Collis P. and Henry E, were married to Arrabella Huntington, mother of Archer Huntington and founder of, the Hispanic Society of America. Dr. Shelley Bennett recently authored a great book, profiling all four of these famous Huntingtons, The Art of Wealth, The Huntingtons in the Gilded Age. Also, fyi, my Great Aunt, Charlotte Huntington Wood Stevens is still touted in the, Chicago Tribune online, in her obituary for her contributions to the Elmhurst School District, Illinois in 1961 and introduction of Spanish speaking lanuguage programs in the district. articles.chicagotribune/1998-01-26/news/9801260107_1_mrs-stevens-languages-children-in-different-schools.
