High Holy Days Begin in Israel Please note that the High Holy Days will begin in Israel this Wednesday evening (Sept. 4th here; Sept. 5th there) when Jews around the world will celebrate Rosh Hashanah - The Jewish New Year (5774). Rosh HaShanah or the Jewish New Year also ushers in the "Ten Days of Awe," a time of repentance ending on Yom Kippur. This year, the Ten Days of Awe will extend then from September 5 - 14. On Rosh Hashanah, we invite all of our prayer partners to seek the will of God for our own new year, and to come home to Him and to His Word, in repentance. The High Holy Days are a time of reflection, repentance and renewal for the New Year, so may the Spirit of the Most High God (Elohim) draw each of us more closely unto him in these days. And finally, unfortunately, the High Holy Days traditionally represent a time when the enemies of Israel attack, giving her "no rest." Please pray for a special mantle of protection to rest upon the Holy Land in the days ahead, according to Pslam 91. Thank you.
