High School kids got to work with Dr. Daniel Laing from Hastings - TopicsExpress

High School kids got to work with Dr. Daniel Laing from Hastings College this morning. Many laughs, lots of great feedback, and the snare drums being called an "angry bunch" while playing their parts. He was very impressed with the kids and truly believes with some fine tuning and commitment to playing with energy that this group can be fantastic. Middle School kids were in sectionals today again and once again they were a great group of kids to just go around and help. The flutes put in a pretty sweet cadence visual. The clarinets worked on marching in step and staying in line. The saxophones worked on playing while marching in step and was even taught their cadence visual. The trumpets worked on marching with their horns in proper carriage and they looked like a really mature group! The low brass worked on cadence visuals and marching while playing. Another solid group! The drumline worked on marching while playing the drum cadence and working on keeping it together while marching. All of these kids are accomplishing so much during this "leadership" week. They have one more day of group sectionals and on Monday we will bring it all together again and I am very excited! Very proud of the kids!
