High point of yesterday. Meeting with Grant Stevensen, Rev. Marriage Equality. In MN a couple of years ago when we defeated the hateful amendment, he was the head of the faith organizing. Anyway, we were meeting about other stuff, but got to reminiscing about the campaign and he said, You should have volunteered in the St. Paul office. We had a lot of fun. And I said, I heard that, but I was staying away (volunteering in Minneapolis) to give my 17 year old space. Whos your kid? Jie. Youre Jies Mom? Youre JIEs mom? Astonishment and new respect came into his face...Jie has spent a number of years being known as my kid, but heres my prediction that eventually, many more people will know me as Jies mom!
