High wind warning for Davis & Weber Counties for winds of 40 mph and gusts of 75 mph or higher. Blowing and drifting snow, along with brutally cold wind chills will accompany the wind storm. Wind advisories are in effect for the Tooele, Salt Lake & Cache Valleys for winds of 30 mph and gusts to 50 mph or higher. Cold wind chills, along with blowing and drifting snow will cause misery in these areas as well. A winter storm watch is in effect for late Wednesday through Thursday in Southern Utah (except for the St. George area). The heaviest snow will fall from Cedar City to Kanab and over the Southern and Southeastern foothills and mountains. Along SR12 from Escalante to Boulder, Bicknel and Torrey, substantial accumulations over a foot are likely. Some heavy snow is expected around Lake Powell and eastward. Gusty northerly winds will blow around Utahs Dixie Wednesday into Thursday. Blowing and drifting with cold wind chills will cover much of Southern Utah Wednesday and New Years Day.
