Hilarious putting kids to bed tonight. I just got home and abbie was asleep next to josh in our bed - quickly and fairly easily got her into bottom bunk. The other three asleep on couches in lounge. Struggled down hall attempting to hold ari (9) in cradle position. Managed to drop her just as she was over her bed, wriggling to be let go. Lol. She promptly stuck her head under a toy and was back sleeping deeply. Got Lex into her bed, all of a sudden feeling extremely light. Next comes Judah(7). The living dead. Lol. I carried him in the upright position, hoping to maintain a better grip than i had with ari. His head flopping from side to side as im bear-hugging him under his armpits to hold on. We get to his room. Now to tackle my heaviest child onto the top bunk. Lol. I ask him if he needs the loo, hoping to wake him slightly. Unsuccessful. Try standing him on his feet, hoping his knees will lock so that i can grip him lower down in order to toss him up onto bed. Unsuccessful. Decide to grab him from behind and get him climbing up, hoping reflexes will kick in. Unsuccessful. As soon as his head and chest hit the mattress he was comfortable. Lol. At risk of him sliding to floor and hurting himself, i attempt to climb onto bunk, while grabbing him so he stays put. Climb over him and start dragging him by his head and one arm til hes sufficiently on bed. Place covers. Kiss cheek. Chuckle. Exit room. Collapse on couch! :)
