Hilary Kuhlmeys songs bring tears to my eyes. She has this - TopicsExpress

Hilary Kuhlmeys songs bring tears to my eyes. She has this comforting, easy grace about her, and a warm, soaring soul to her voice. I am looking forward to seeing more from this phenomenal woman. I feel grateful to call her one of my dearest friends. Both she and I spoke recently about how unreal and wonderful it is to have other people—especially younger people—look up to you. Weve both had experiences where our words and creative work moved others, and inspired them to start doing more of what they love. Its like a chain reaction. Passion is contagious. The young women who expressed their appreciation for us reaffirms something I try to keep in mind, always: That we ALL lead by example. Even when we think were not. No matter how young or old we are, other people are watching us, and may even be looking to us for guidance. What are we showing them about how to live? Are we looking down on one another, or lifting each other up? Are we creating wonderful things together, or destroying each other? Are we learning and teaching and growing together? Are we taking and taking, or are we giving and receiving all the goodness life has to offer? I distinctly remember being young and looking up at older people, studying them. I remember not being able to conceptualize being that old. But we age, and we grow. In moments of frustration and insecurity, Ive found myself wishing I had more encouragement growing up... but I am abundantly grateful for those who DID encourage, inspire, and empower me along the way. Im grateful that I have people in my life who still do this. If I can play the same role for others while I am here on this good Earth, I feel I will have done well. We all have the capacity to inspire someone else to do what they most love to do. We do it by making the decision ourselves—the decision to simply do what we love to do. Inspiration is devoid of judgment. Inspiration is our lifeblood. It feels incredible. It gives us hope. It reminds us in our darkest moments that life is worth living. Passion inspires. Passion ignites! The world needs more passionate people, not less. The world needs more people to wake up to what they love doing, regardless of what it is. What do you LOVE to do? Before someone told you not to? Because if misery loves company, and so many people are miserable, what kind of planet are we going to live on? And if joy is infectious, why not spread more of it? When we engage in that which we love, when we remain free from judging others, and when we only wish for each others mutual growth and happiness, we are doing work that is in line with our highest possible selves. We are doing work that is absolutely necessary if we wish to co-create a more joyous, more interesting, more beautiful world. #imallin And, as Hilarys song Are You Home reminds us: This life is fleeting. May we appreciate it, and may we live fully before it slips away. My gratitude for the #besomebody community is only growing. It is a digital platform created to connect people over shared passions. Its a beautiful, budding community. Its the kind of thing we need in a day and age that leaves so many people feeling disillusioned, disconnected, and disheartened. Lets do more of what we love, and lets do it together. #besomebody. #passionaries #livetocreate #createtolive #dowhatyoulove #lovewhatyoudo
