Due to this success our Client has been award several multi-million dollar infrastructure projects including Bridges / Expressways and Light Rail across the country.We are currently looking to recruit a Commissioning Manager - Highways to oversee the Commissioning Team. The successful candidates must have experience of the commissioning of high value projects within the Infrastructure - Roads - Highways - Bridges - Rail & Metro Sectors, with a bias towards roads and highways.Reporting to the Operations Manager the Commissioning Manager will manage, through the leadership of the Commissioning Team, the acceptance and commissioning of works on their completion, and handing over to the Employers Operations & Maintenance (O&M) department. The role requires the planning and execution of the commissioning and handover stages of the programme. The Commissioning Manager is essentially the eyes on site until the contractual handover.Main Responsibilities: - Leadership of the Commissioning Team in the development and implementation of the handover and commissioning strategy.- Liaise closely with Asset Manager (PMC) regarding Asset database requirements.- Liaise with O & M department and develop and agree commissioning and handover plans.- Communication of commissioning strategy with programme team, consultants and contractors.- Review of contractor commissioning plans.- Scheduling of commissioning activities and identification and allocation of resources to activities.- Witness testing and commissioning activities to assure that completed works meet the required performance specification.- Liaison and coordination with programme team, consultants and contractors for commissioning and handover activities.Experience, Skills and Knowledge: - Knowledge of operational aspects of Major Highways projects including roads, bridges and utilities with experience in project management and construction management and practice- Experience in commissioning, testing, and inspection of roads and highways projects- Familiar with the lifecycle of a roads and highways project- Experience of coordinating multiple stakeholders- Familiar with contractual engineering specifications- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment as well as pumps- Minimum of 15 years of experience in related projects- Experience in a commissioning and handover role- Undergraduate degree in Engineering- Preferably Chartered or Professional Engineer- Report writing and communication skills- Experienced user of MS Office- Experience of major projects in the Middle East is preferredCompetencies: - Leadership- Planning & Organising- Business Process Thinking- Accepts responsibility Job Details Date Posted: 2014-03-06 Job Location: Qatar Job Role: Management Company Industry: Construction/Civil Engineering Monthly Salary: US $7,000 Preferred Candidate Career Level: Management Apply Now - Jobs in Qatar - Management Jobs in Qatar - Search All Jobs Apply here >> ift.tt/1g2QMf5
