The Warriors of Metal Fest is over, and it was a GREAT time. What a tremendous collection of quality bands, some I knew and loved already (ASKA, Helstar, Benedictum, Leather Leone, Steel Assassin, and Armory), who surpassed my expectations with stunning performances. Others that I was so impressed with hearing them from the first time (Sound of Thunder, Noble Beast, Crusader, Automaton, Burning Shadows, Cellador, so many others!). What an awesome sense of camaraderie as well! Additionally, you want to strip away all the superfluous things from high profile acts, pretty much all the bands shared the same drums and set-up. It doesnt matter when you can sing and play and have written great songs. Even the minor equipment flubs, cables yanking out and drum sets moving, were endearing to me (although Im sure annoying to the bands) because it showed these people were out there really playing, nothing to cover-up their performances. A great time, and I will continue to add reviews and news about bands I saw until I either cover them all, or my brain deteriorates! - Craig Wisnom
