Hiring Now: Legal Manager - Bakhashab Transport and Trading Visit Middle East Jobs >> bit.ly/midejobs Please Follow >> bit.ly/mideastjobs • JOB PURPOSE: To plan and manage the provision of legal advice and services in order to ensure the mitigation and elimination of legal risks while enforcing adherence to all local laws and regulations to protect the company’s interests. • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Policies & Procedures: Develop policies processes and procedures pertaining to budgeting and MIS department and manage their implementation to ensure adherence and fulfilment of all relevant requirements. Budget Preparation: Oversee the development and consolidation of the legal advisor function budget, in coordination with Finance, to ensure alignment with budget guidelines. Monitor financial performance versus budget to keep track of costs and areas of unsatisfactory performance to ensure improvement opportunities are capitalised upon. Policies & Procedures: Ensure the accurate development and implementation of the appropriate legal advisor function policies and practices, in order to support the realisation of the company’s strategic objectives and comply with leading best practices and standards, as well as with local legislation and regulations. Organisation Development: Define an optimum organisation structure for the function overseen to ensure that work is optimally organised, resources are optimally utilised and communication can take place in an efficient and effective manner. Legal Advice: Manage the provision of legal advice and recommendations to support the CEO and executive management in decision making which has legal implications in order to protect the interests of the Company. Represent the company in all courts of law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as required to ensure the company’s interests are protected at all times. Ensure both standard and non-standard agreements and template documentation are enforceable in a court of law and that the associated risk is adequately covered. Malpractice and Misconduct: Manage the investigation of any malpractice, misconduct, and fraudulent activity in order to recommend measures in line with the relevant laws and regulations. Provide support to company HR in investigating administrative disciplinary enquiries with employees for alleged misconduct in order to establish the merits of the allegation and recommend the appropriate action. Investigate potential internal violations in coordination with Internal Audit where relevant to protect the interests of the Company. Contracts: Supervise the preparation and checking of all contracts between Bakhashab and outside parties to ensure correctness and accuracy. Manage the review of contracts, agreements, documentations, etc. as required and provide advice to concerned parties to ensure compliance with stipulated regulations and legislations, and the company’s policies. Litigation and Legal Action: Ensure that the company’s rights vis-à-vis third parties are adequately protected, and oversee the initiation of litigations or court processes and arbitration where necessary to defend against any claim or legal action. Ensure effective communication and negotiation techniques are utilised in order to avoid litigation and arbitration where possible and achieve an out-of-court, arbitration settlement satisfactory to the company. • COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (ILLUSTRATIVE NOT EXHAUSTIVE): Internal: Internal: Regular interactions with the CEO, and other executive team members to report on performance of the areas managed, discuss issues of strategy and policy and undertake day-to-day top level decision making. Regular interactions with direct subordinates to receive reports and review performance of their functions provide policy guidance and address significant day-to-day operational issues.
