He ensures that audits address areas of concern relative to the goals, performance objectives, and impact of a variety of economic, financial, and managerial programs in conformance with the Company’s policies and procedures. He ensures completion of Audit assignments for his region. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Description 1. Participates in development of annual audit pland and schedule engagements and staff assignments for his region so as to comply with the scope of the department’s overall plan. 2. Supervises the Internal Audit team in conducting interviews, reviewing documents, developing and administering surveys, composing summary memos, preparing working papers, identifying and defining issues, reviewing and analyzing evidence, documenting processes and procedures, and documenting issues and recommendations. 3. Develops and maintains productive business unit and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings. 4. To plan and perform engagements and supervise the work of auditors engaged in the reviews of organizational and functional activities. 5. To provide for flexibility in audit programs so as to be responsive to management’s special needs. 6. To counsel and guide auditor to see that the approved audit objectives are met and that adequate, practical coverage is achieved. 7. To prepare or review the draft audit reports and, in consultation with the senior in - charge and to discuss the reports with appropriate management. Then send the report for IA management review and issuance. 8. To accumulate data, maintain records and prepare reports for Internal Audit manager on the administration of audit projects and other assigned activities. 9. To identify factors causing deficient conditions and recommend courses of action to improve the conditions, including special surveys and audits. 10. Assist the Internal Audit management in managing audit staff and in the planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring of Internal Audit operations. 11. Analyzing current procedures and activities to determine areas that need to be improved 12. Monitoring, appraising, coaching and counseling the performance of audit team working with him. 13. Perform any other tasks assigned by Internal Audit Management. PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS/CHARCTERISTICS • should have an understanding of the general standards, standards of fieldwork and standards of reporting and the standards for the professional practice of internal auditing as stated by the Institute of Internal Auditors(IIA). • Ability to lead a team of auditors by building a culture of discipline and accountability • Ability to demonstrate emotional maturity under tough scenarios. • Ablility to be non judgemental or critical of employees status/situation to be able to perform the job effectively. • Ability to create passion in their work, which people follow.
