I have in the last three days through this platform of course, received a lot of complaints over the state of the Solwezi- Chingola Road. This weekend I summoned my Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication to update me on this critical road project. After the meeting with my minister, I realized the inadequate capacity of the contractor on site and as such I have directed that urgent practical interventions to expedite the works be undertaken, even if it means engaging another contractor to help in finishing the project on schedule. The greatest asset this country has is YOU [the people] and as President I recognise YOU as dependable allies in the struggle to realize the developmental targets and priorities of our government, including job and wealth creation, access to health and education, and rural development. I aim to leave a dignified rural livelihood in Zambia. Have a productive week!
