His action was WRONG, no doubt! But...I agree with Ben Carson, get them the HELP they need as a couple rather than just attacking Ray Rices character! Im sure we ALL have something in our lives, that if publicized for the world to see, we would be negatively judged as well and what good does that do?! I could see it being warranted if this was an ongoing issue he had history of. We all have a breaking point, its tragic what happened, but if he is doing what he needs to in order to assure it never happens again and is positively moving forward in his life, then I dont feel I or anyone else but He has the right to judge him as that being his true character and write him off for the rest of his life. With bad judgement comes consequences, so fire him, but I do believe he can come back from this and still lead a good life as a private citizen. But now no one will hire him anywhere after this, due to all the media and demonizing remarks made.
