“Historic” Jewelry by Picasso Coming to Auction This Month In an earlier age, Carole Mallory might have been called a courtesan – a beautiful woman known for her, uh, liaisons with rich and powerful men. Ms. Mallory, now 73, will be in Boston later this month to talk about her life – which she says has included relationships of one sort or another with Norman Mailer, Robert De Niro, Richard Gere, Warren Beatty, Robin Williams, Matt Dillon, Peter Sellers, Anthony Hopkins, Rod Stewart and Sean Connery – but mostly to discuss the three rare pieces of Picasso jewelry she will be selling through Skinner Auctioneers in Boston on March 18. She was given the pendants by Pablo Picasso’s wife Françoise Gilot, former wife of Pablo and mother of Claude Picasso, to whom Mallory was engaged for awhile. Skinner vice president of jewelry Gloria Lieberman has talked to the Boston Globe about the jewelry, which she calls “important” and historic.” Read more and see images at Boston Globe
