Historic installation of 16 pre-fabricated concrete girders for the new Kalibo Bridge expected to be completed by June 2015 towards catering a targeted 4M tourists arrival by 2018. Savings on the new Kalibo Bridge was some Php 39M and were used to widen two more adjacent bridges in Numancia town. As backgrounder, the old Kalibo Bridge was constructed upon the initiatives of two Tumbocon first cousins, Dr. Rafael Tumbokon and Board Member Mauro Tumbocon. Some 64 years later, another set of Tumbocon first cousins, Gov. Joeben T. Miraflores and Rep. Nonong T. Haresco, initiated the new state-of-the-art Kalibo Bridge II.
