Historically speaking, DeLaVeaga began as a regular 18 hole - TopicsExpress

Historically speaking, DeLaVeaga began as a regular 18 hole course. Due to increased demand for tournament play, circa 1990, and due to holding to the edict of not wanting to ever stoop to having fivesomes, more holes were added to the course, and is why there are as many as 29 holes today. the original FaultLine tournament began in1991, to commemorate the Oct. 1989,Loma Prieta Earthquake, the original venue was a Pro only event, while encouraging those who played in the Amatuer divisions to enter and play along with the pros. It was not originally a fundraiser, rather a lower key Pro Event given that we had put so much into making the Masters Cup earlier in the year. When the very late discussion began about this years FaultLine, I recommended to hold off a year as it is very difficult to run an event with a 2 month lead time. My recommendation was disregarded and the idea was to have a 2 day, 1 round per day, Pro Am event. I did not balk at this, but, I never imagined that the event would also entail including fivesomes per hole. Whomever deleted my earlier comment, get this, in capital letters, I WANT MY MONEY BACK, as i feel it is a bastardization of the original event and any event in my opinion. As the original creator and tournament director for the FAULTLINE, i also ask that you change the name to something else, so that the legacy for what i created is not tarnished by this decision to go to fivesomes per hole. When you wrote weve decided, you might have considered consulting me beforehand, and then maybe i would not have to be writing this negative response.
