History is littered with many examples of men and women who were radical leaders, until they entered the confines of a bourgeois parliament. They suddenly ceased to champion militant causes and became not just reformist, but downright reactionary. Sometimes it was because they got confronted with the reality that governing a country differs from rhetoricking in rallies, that some things seem do-able until you are faced with bureaucratic processes which slow down progress. But sometimes it was because they became too comfortable. A handsome salary, nice accommodation, flights and other benefits became too comfortable. On their altar, principle gets sacrifised. I hope from the bottom of my heart that comrade Julius Malema and all fighters will not become statistics of militants who get softened by fat cheques and the comforts brought by parliament. The day Fighters cease to be revolutionaries and become resolutionaries (people who just adopt resolutions) will be a sad day for the Black nation. The real test for the EFF is not in getting into parliament. It is the AFTER that will determine whether the organisation is truly a powerful idea whose time has come, or the vehicle that will deliver the poor to abbatoirs of a tortured civilisation...
