Many people do not understand the religion behind the spells cast by covens throughout centuries. Many just want to learn how to make things happen to better their lives or meet a goal that would not normally be achieved. It has been widely believed that witchcraft involved the use of these powers to inflict harm upon people of a community or their property. Witches were working with the devil which is why prosecution was common. Since the mid 20th century, the term witchcraft has sometimes been interpenetrated differently to distinguish between bad witchcraft and good witchcraft. The concept of witchcraft as harmful is normally treated as a means of explaining human misfortune by blaming it either on a supernatural entity or a known person in the community. Many blame their misfortunes or “bad luck” on curses and other people doing witchcraft magic spells against them. Beliefs in witchcraft scared many people for centuries often leading to witch hunts where the goal was to arrest, prosecute and kill anyone who was practicing witchcraft magic spells. It did not matter if the witch was Pagan or Wiccan. Any form of witchcraft or spell casting was deemed illegal and punishable by death. Rumors of curses by the witches that were prosecuted are still believed to linger to this day in certain areas. During the 1920′s covens started to organize in private and documented meetings and spells cast. Research on spells and rituals took place at this time and many books were published. Authors were tracked down and imprisoned for their writings. What most people did not know is that the wiccan and pagan religions were very similar to Christianity. They believed in the Christian God, along with mother nature. Research showed that including mother nature in their prayers and respecting her regularly gave positive energy into the world and allowed them to channel that positive energy into other aspects of their focus. There are many misconceptions about witchcraft magic spells. One of them is sacrifices. Authentic witches of the wiccan and pagan religions will never sacrifice anything living for the sake of a spell. They do not believe in taking any type of life for the sake of accomplishing a goal. Many people associate witchcraft and casting spells with evil and black magic when that is not what really goes on. Many wiccans and pagan only practice white magic which is respectful of everyone and brings no harm upon anyone or anything. At times the hardest part about casting a spell is getting enough people who know what they are doing to participate in the casting of a witchcraft magic spell. Many people turn to love spells when they are going through relationship problems. It can be a quick fix, but it may not be a permanent solution to a relationship problem.
