Hiya you all..!! A plethora of photos this evening.. Today has been the... Day of Extremes!! Extremely...cold, windy, beautiful, scary, annoying, grateful, sunny, and relieved !! A leisurely rise this morning, after yesterdays shenanigans!! You told me to!! And trying to strip wash while curious visitors visit is an art unto itself! So off we bumbled..a renewed energy and a blinking long hill to climb!! Poor old Annie..! There were so many long and steep hills today.. As we came down the first mountain, and around the corner, it was clear the nights storms/gales hadnt desisted!! Just that wed been in the shelter from it.. The windchill felt it would cut you in half..so bitter!! The strength of the wind too, buffeting from the sides, exposed and eyes watering..!! The temperature ranged from zero to two degrees..imagine that with snow too!! The walls of ice were spectacular..so many, spoilt for choice! Then a stretch of roadworks, like none Ive ever enjoyed..off roading!! 1st gear, with a 28 caravan..!! The dust, wind swept..in your face, gritty!! Lunchtime, and a layby, I thought safely out of the gale..not!! Ive since found I now display white flashing lights on top of Annie, the amber cover off for flying lessons!! Gone!! And the l o n g climb..to the snowy peaks..utterly indescribable!! Hence the video!! And Im not a biker traffic cop as someones suggested!! Lots of ice on the road..studs do work!! Yeeha!! Then the long descent.. So so cold!! At least the trees provide some relief from the gusty wind..until.. A bridge across a fjord had to crossed..at Badderfjorden. It was bad enough on the approach, but to look at the bridge, even scared me! Straight up, straight down, no protection, open and at the mercy of the elements!! I stopped just before mounting the bridge.. ...should I, shouldnt I..?? I went for it, 1st gear..steady as you go!! The traffic very light (been like that all day), I had the bridge to myself, and just as well, as the caravan skipped and weaved and swayed..if the caravan went for a plunge, I was going too.. And Amber..!! Heart in mouth, God willing..we made it!! Ive been in some scary situations, that was fifty fifty!! Tonight Ive taken refuge behind a service station..phew!! Thank you.. I have met some lovely people today.. Per, Kenneth and Lars at Arctic Cat just outside Storslett..thank you so much for the great face mask (for keeping out the cold!!) Rolf at Burfjords Statoil..for the emergency lamp and your infectious humour!! Sabine, the doctor, who drives a Land Rover 110!! Such a lovely lady, pleasure having supper with you, and Sven for providing such a delicious meal..!! So many waves, toots, photos/videos, thumbs up, flashed lights..and then theres all of YOU!! Reading this..my comfort and company, as I think what to say and share during my bumbles.. On we go..been quite a day, we got through it, thank you all, all of you..
