Hm posting with permission of a member. Ive posted an ad on craigslist looking for help in my search, but havent come up with much yet. My father, Ron, is a veteran who lived at a commune in Sonoma County near Sebastopol between roughly 1971 and 1973. He was fresh from Vietnam, with a new wife. He worked at Hamilton AFB during the day and came home to The Farm, is the only title he knows to call it. These were some of his happiest days. I am aware that there were quite a few communes back in the day, and with the name The Farm, I may come up with nothing. But my dad is going through some dark days, and I would like to find at least one of his old friends, because I think it would be good for him. My dad was in the Marines in Vietnam, then the Air Force, active duty for 20 years, and civil service for over a decade. He now lives in Arkansas, but remembers Norcal fondly. The people who ran the farm did not go by last names--they were Thomas, David, and Mom. The family was from Texas. It was a self sustaining community, and if I understand correctly, there may have been an element of Christianity and of course good times involved. Dad said sometimes people would leave the farm and not be able to find it when they came back. He left because the Air Force was getting serious about pinning down airmen during the off time. Dad is 63 now. I think it would do him some good to reconnect with old friends. If you are familiar with this commune, or know any former members, please contact me. Thank you!
