Hmmm.. at the moment, we have capacity for 11 Ebola patients at specialized biocontainment hospitals in the U.S...? Hopefully, the CDC will have vaccines, have more antibodies available, and future patients arent stuck with *massive* medical bills for Ebola treatment. I was comparing and contrasting in my mind tonight while coding... poor countries & Ebola conditions... I was thinking.... if someone with Ebola lands in Mexico from West Africa.... maybe lands in Mexico City... then it begins to spread in Mexico City a few weeks later... and then throughout the poor countries that are just south of the border. Imagine what that would mean and look like. Ebola would officially be in the wild in the Americas. People leaving their towns.... and potentially spreading Ebola into neighboring towns and throughout the region... and ultimately into the U.S. across the border. Instead of flying people 1 by 1 from Texas to other parts of the nation for the foreseeable future.. assuming it will be over soon... maybe the CDC should immediately start work on a few more Bio-containment facilities... in Dallas & Houston as well as other large cities... especially near the border (Houston, Phoenix, San Diego, San Antonio). Maybe we should have a couple of large bio-containment jet airliners constructed that could locally treat a small infected group... or transport the small infected group to a larger facility. Id probably aim for the capacity to treat a minimum of 2,500 at any given time (be it Ebola or whatever deadly virus that pops up) versus only having capacity for 11 patients.
