Ho Jos Lake George update. Candi and I stopped in today. We were disappointed to see the restaurant was not open. We spoke with John, the owner and he told us he is behind schedule but will open, hopefully in a couple of weeks. The name will be Lake George Family Restaurant but dont despair, the Howard Johnsons sign and references to its former name including the weather vane and murals will remain. He also indicated to have at least 24 flavors of ice cream and will offer clam strips and other iconic Howard Johnsons menu items. Best of all, he will remain open all year! John has invested a lot of money in new equipment in the kitchen so I expect hes in it for the long haul. We owe it to him to visit often. We should plan a mini Ho Jos Convention in September at Lake George. Whos in? Any interest????
