Hogan wants Baltimore to be an economic driver for the state, but said the city needs a lot of work first. Previous efforts to revitalize Baltimore have not worked, he told The Baltimore Sun. Greater Baltimore Committee CEO Donald C. Fry agreed that there is still lots of work to be done and said he is pleased Hogan is interested in taking on the challenge. I think the governor-elect is recognizing that the major metro area needs attention. I dont think thats a surprise, Fry said. Despite Baltimores gains in job creation and business expansion, the city still struggles with poverty, poor health and crime.
