Home Improvement Fraud Investigation and Arrest Over the past three (3) weeks, the West Reading Police Department has been investigating allegations of Home Improvement fraud against Arrowhead Roofing and Remodeling, in response to complaints by three (3) victims who had each made payments to the company for work to be performed between August and November 2013, which was either not started, or not completed. A total loss of $12,375.00 was suffered by the three victims On 5/8/14, members of the West Reading Police Department, assisted by Berks County Detectives, The DA’s Major Crime Task Force, Wyomissing Police Department, Spring Township Police Department and the Reading Police Department took part in executing two (2) search warrants related to the investigation; Location 1 was a residence in Spring Township, Location 2 was at Arrowhead Roofing and Remodeling, Blair Avenue, Reading PA. The owner of the business was charged with three (3) counts of the following charges: Title 73: Chapter 14(b); Section 517.8(a)(1) – Home Improvement Fraud Title 73: Chapter 14(b); Section 517.8(a)(2) – Home Improvement Fraud PACC – Theft by Deception 3922(a) PACC – Receiving Stolen Property 3925(a) The investigation into these complaints is continuing, questions may be referred CI Joseph Brown or CI Ryan Phillips at the West Reading Police Department, 610 373 0111.
