Home from a long, emotionally exhausting day at the hospital. Mom is heavily sedated and defying what anyone thought possible. She continues to breathe on her own after being completely dependent on the ventilator since June. We can tell that the breathing is slowly becoming more labored and that is to be expected. Her left lung has completely collapsed so she is breathing with only 1 lung. Time to get a few hours of sleep and then back to the hospital. Thank you for the continuous outpouring of love and prayers. Reading them has warmed my heart immensely and Im sorry I havent responded. Just know that they are helping to get me through this horrible time.
