Home safe and sound. Thanks for ALL the prayers, love, well wishes and good thoughts! It meant SO much to all of us! For those who are interested, I just HAVE to relive once more and set the stage of what happened yesterday: Picture 106 great girls in evening gowns on risers praying to have their name called for top 15 (and families popping anti-acids in the audience! LOL) Sure, there are always a bunch of girls who are sweethearts but clearly arent quite ready to compete at this level...BUT there are at least 40-50 who look like they COULD get the call realistically, and I personally had about 25 on my list who were my pix for top 15. So as a parent, you ask yourself, Sure I think my kids great, but which TEN of these dont get the call so that she will? Its tough to really believe top 15 is even possible when youre sitting in that pressure cooker auditorium. They call out the first FOURTEEN semi-finalists....leaving NINETY-TWO girls on the risers hoping to hear their name. But your mind is spinning realizing how many competitive girls are still on the risers....I mean big city title-holders, some predicted to make top 5 or win it all....were talking Houston (the toughest prelim to have won), Ft. Worth, Tarrant County, South Padre Island, DFW....some beautiful girls. So all hope is gone, and youre actually feeling bad that only one of THOSE girls can get the call! And then they say, Rounding out our top 15 for Miss Texas Teen USA is..............FREDERICKSBURG!! ALL TEN of us are stunned, jumping, screaming, waving signs like maniacs! We had THE BEST support team EVER! I truly believe they called Sealy last in the random order BECAUSE we had such a wild cheering section, they knew we would give them the big reaction when they called her last......AND WE DID!!! We had two rows of five seats (teens in back row: Savannah Sikes, EA Reedy, Lauren Spraggins, Celeste Camfield and the mouth of the south Lauren Smith ....who boldly yelled Go Fredericksburg and SEALY Sikes repeatedly throughout the competition.....to the consternation sometimes of other spectators....Love ya Lauren! And on the front row we had myself, Tami Smith, Leslie Spraggins, Laurie (who held Sealy the day she was born) and her precious daughter (who I held the day SHE was born)...Terah John. It was a moment I didnt think ANY of us will ever forget. And I can never thank them enough for supporting us!!!! Not to mention all of you who streamed the pageant live at home on your own nickel...as well as those who followed the Facebook and twitter updates and gave us encouragement. Sealy worked hard for SIX months for this. I cant even count how many trips we made to Houston, how many appointments we had, how many hours spent....and It was a REALLY big deal for Sealy, and those of us sitting there could feel the love, and it meant more than you will know. Having little tiny Fredericksburg called, while big city winners stayed behind was just unbelievable. The journey has now begun. She was the ONLY 15 year old to make the cut, so she is in a STRONG position for next year (and the two after that if needed). Then she goes on to compete in the older division for Miss Texas USA. She said last night on the drive home, I thought Id be glad when the pageant was over so I could relax....but Im ready to go again! So one last time....THANK YOU ALL!!!!
