Homecoming 2013 activities for Oct. 11-12 announced Homecoming 2013 activities begin on Friday, Oct. 11 with soccer matches in Ridgeland at Freedom Ridge Park versus Itawamba Community College starting at 4 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. and will conclude with the football game with Northwest Mississippi Community College, which begins at 6 p.m. at Ras Branch Stadium. Saturday day activities kick off at 10 a.m. with the softball alumni game and an intra-squad baseball scrimmage. At noon, the Holmes House, Art Department and Frank Branch Coliseum open for our alumni and friends. The annual art exhibit also begins at noon and a drama production is set in the Montgomery Fine Arts Building. Lunch will be served in the grove area from 12:30-2 p.m. with the steel and jazz bands handling the entertainment. At 2 p.m., the Alumni Association will have its annual meeting in McMorrough Library. At 2:30 p.m., 2013 honorees Alumnus of the Year Dr. Ed Bryant of Kosciusko and Distinguished Service Award winner J.S. "Dynamite" Kirk of Grenada will be recognized in McDaniel Hall Auditorium. The Holmes Connection! will then perform at 3 p.m. in McDaniel Hall Auditorium and the Coachmen will perform in the Chapel on the Hill at 3:45 p.m. At 4:30 p.m., a parade with the Holmes Community College Bulldog Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Homecoming Court and honorees including Homecoming Queens from the past will begin at Cook Dorm and end in the main parking lot near the Henry B. McClellan Administration Building, where a pep rally is set for 5 p.m. The honorees including the former Homecoming Queens will be recognized on the football field at 5:45 p.m. The Holmes Community College Chorale will sing the national anthem prior to kickoff with Northwest. The homecoming court and queen will be announced during halftime.
