Homepage – This is the first page you see when you open your internet browser. You can set any webpage as your homepage URL - The address of a website on the internet. Virus – the software that was written to harm your computer Wallpaper – an image or design on your desktop for the decorations Cable-a cable is one more wires converted in a plastic covering that connects a computer to power source or to the other device. There are two main types of computers cable. (Like another computer, a phone, an iPad, etc…..) Modem- The part of the computer that allows you to connect to the internet, usually using phone lines Software- This is all the instructions for the computer or a program designed to do different things. (Examples are: Microsoft Word, Google Chrome, and Windows…etc….) SPAM- Unwanted emails. S = sending P = particularly (do not need to study) A = annoying M = message Desktop- This is the main screen that you see when you are not searching the internet, reading the file or playing a game. Your icons are on the screen. Internet - Many computers that are connected like a (spider) web so you can see what other computer operators show you and you can show them too. Network - Two or more computer connected with wires that have ability to communicate. WWW or World Wide Web - The World Wide Web is a group of internet servers connecting computer all around the world. Hot spot - An area that have an available wireless signal for internet access. Cache - A kind of memory used to make a computer work faster Anti-Virus Software - Software designed to find and destroy computer viruses.
