Hon. LANRE OGUNYEMI & LAGOS STATE GOVT. I want to use this medium to inform the Lagos State Government, especially the Ministry/Agency in charge of STREET LIGHTINGS. For more than a year now, Street Lights were mounted on the newly constructed Era/Ilogbo Elegba Road, right from Iyana-Era Bus-stop down to Ilogbo-Elegba The Street Lights were even adequately supported with independent sources of generating power supply and transformers as PHCN is unreliable. In fact PHCN is trying in these areas as we do have reqular power supply. The people of these areas were all happy and appreciative of the efforts and the good gesture of the State Government when the street lights were mounted. However, i can NOT recollect if the street light were switched ON on more than 5 occassions since it was erected years back, up till this very moment, and NO reason(s) have been given for this shortcoming. The street Lights are wasting away, infact some has fallen down due to hit-and- run vehicles or natural disasters; ditto for the Generators and the transformers both at Abule-Era and Ilogbo-Station Roundabout, they are rotting away due to non-usage. On behalf of the good people of these communities, i want to appeal to Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi to intervene and use his good office and position to get in touch with the relevant agencies so that the street lights can become operational between the hours of 7:00pm - 7:00am daily. This will go a long way in securing the lives and propeties of the residents of these areas who uses the roads daily. Eko o ni Baje oooo.
