Honest question to anyone who knows the answer: Are police even - TopicsExpress

Honest question to anyone who knows the answer: Are police even trained in first aid/emergency response or do they just refuse to administer it? Why is it that in virtually every video Ive seen of someone killed by police (Oscar Grant, Tamir Rice, John Crawford, Michael Brown, Eric Garner) the police just stand around watching their victims dying or bleeding to death (or in some cases, even handcuffing them after theyve been shot) for minutes upon minutes without trying to provide CPR or emergency assistance. They seem more concerned about checking their victims pockets or preserving a crime scene than sensing the urgency that this is a HUMAN BEING in front of them who is dying and these could be critical minutes (not to mention the excessive use of deadly force in the first place). Or is it just shock? Its a tough job, but if thats how theyre trained to respond, I think we need a serious overhaul of law enforcement training in this country, on all fronts.
