Honestly!? I mean, the age of women having the option to stay home and focus on caregiving, a most undervalued and noble job, are over for most. I know I couldnt possibly find a job that paid enough to keep a roof over my familys head without a degree. And mostly that is due to my gender. I can recall when I went to job hunt after graduating I couldnt find work outside that of a temp. I was a receptionist, substitute teacher, and secretary. And I dont foresee my current job providing any avenue to financial security in the future. I was literally told I should not work in some fields by the agency I worked for due to my gender. BS. This whole issue of women making less, BS. I have a family to support, why does my anatomy even have to be taken into consideration? Ah. It fires me up!!!!! Dont even get me started on the counselor of Grand Bay High School refusing to allow me to take wood working/shop class when I moved here in 9th grade, You cant be in there with all those boys doing stuff like that. B, please. I could work circles around them then and probably now. Grr. I wish I had more nerve back then!
