Honestly, seeing a chiropractor has been life changing.. When I came home from Afghanistan, I was in the best shape of my life; I was also in a very different place mentally. I was determined, confident, comfortable in my own skin, and to a great extent, happy with my self. After my back and hip issues got to the point that I was basically crippled every day, either in bed or just somewhere stationary because any amount of physical activity became an impossibility, I lost all the hard work I put in. Being a couch potato for 5 months, and then, getting totaled on the highway in the vehicle that I had only owned for 4 months; the present I bought myself when I came home from Afghanistan. There have been so many setbacks, but seeing a chiropractor has allowed me to get back to doing the things I love and at least affords me the ability to make an effort to get back what I lost. More than that, it has allowed me to do simple, every day things again; being able to walk more than a few meters without crippling pain, tie my shoe, get out of bed in the morning, climb in and out of a vehicle, not crawl up a flight of stairs, pick up a basket of laundry... That stuff means so much. It feels indescribable, getting much of that functionality and ability back.. So now, the rest is on me to take what Ive been given and to make it better. If I truly want those things that made me happy, comfortable, confident, determined enough, which I do, then I will certainly achieve them. Its all a matter of time.
