Well today is my boys 8th birthday on this fine Saint Patricks day in Savannah, GA. GRHRCH UH Saint Thomas Chief MHR 10NOCH TDI CGC or Chief for short came into our lives as a 7 week old puppy and has changed the Reel household completely. We started on this endeavor competing him in hunt tests for fun and what a ride we have had. Chief has led us into a whole new world. We have met our closest friends at these tests what a great family. We really look forward to our weekends with them and their dogs. Chief has exceeded our wildest expectations . Ill list only a few of his achievements. I had the honor of handling him to his Grand Hunting Retriever Championship becoming only the 2nd Boykin Spaniel to achieve this title and the only one handled by an amateur/owner. He was the youngest Boykin to ever achieve his Hunting Retriever Title at the time. He was the first Boykin to obtain his Master Hunting Retriever title going 6 for 6 and the only Boykin to ever qualify at the Master Nationals. He is 6th on the all time HRC points list for retrievers. chief lives to retrieve but he also has a soft side. My wife (Susan) certified him with Therapy Dog International and he loves to be petted by the nursing home patients. He comes to work with me almost every day and is our official greeter.
