@Hong Kong Figure Club interview session with Howard Chan translated by Charles Lim on OSR HKFC: In regards to MJ Smooth Criminal, has it been cancelled? Howard: Actually prototype was completed long ago, but MJs family never approve it, besides that the license was expired hence we decided to cancel it. HKFC: Lately the hottest issue Ironman Mark 42 shoulder problem, care to explain whats going on there? Howard: As soon as we found out about the issue through forums and facebook, we have already looked into it. We found out that there was an error in assembling that part and already increase manpower to supervise it. We have resolved this issue hence there arent too many broken shoulders. HKFC: As you know Pepper Potts is one of ironman series most anticipated character, when will she be revealed? Howard: Head sculpt was completed but due to projects in hand, we could not squeeze time to paint it. We hoped to present and announce Pepper in a different way; at the moment plans arent too concrete and we didnt want to rush it hence will try to complete other projects before hopping back to Pepper. HKFC: 2012 Anicom Fair revealed Xmen Professor Xavier but since then there arent any updates, care to share? Howard: I believed most of you have seen the prototype and the movie licencor approved too. However later stage the movie studio told us we need to acquire every actors head sculpts licensing approval by ourselves, hence the delay. Xmen movie license is quite tedious, as mentioned we need to talk to each actors and some of them has given the green light, so we are still in planning stage who to produce first. HKFC: Back to the Futures DeLorean has become one of the hottest topic this years con, do you plan to produce it? Howard: We were quite lucky as we are able to complete the prototype just in time for these comic con. Personally I want to produce but we shall decide later! HKFC: One of the recent release Cloud has been well praised by collectors; why hasnt the other main character Wind been announced yet? Howard: The original Cloud head sculpt was approved long ago but the author Ma Weng Seng, however we find it not to satisfactory hence keep revising. Obviously we know collectors feedback, so now most of you should be happy about Cloud; as for Wind, sorry no plans yet. HKFC: Are you planning to produce all Mark 42 armors from Ironman? Howard: We all know that most of the armors are consisted of other armors part, wont diminish that we might produce all them; those more distinctive individual armors will be produced but mostly in exclusive manner. Howard: 其實Sample已經很早做好, 但MJ的家人沒有批準樣辦, 而且License （授权）已經過了期, 所以最後決定取消。 HKFC: 最近鬧至滿城風雨的Ironman Mark 42斷手事件, 能源解釋一下發生了什麼事? Howard: 其實都知道有好多FORUM及facebook都提及後, 已經馬上去了解程況。 並已確定是工廠員工組裝時出現問題, 已經加強人手作出監管。 發生斷手的個案數量不是很多。(註: 斷手批次已經作出更換） HKFC: Ironman係列中大家期望已久的小辣椒Pepper何時才能跟大家見面呢? Howard: 其實頭雕已經雕好, 只是目前太多project（项目）還沒有有時間上色做辦。 我們希望用不同的方式推出pepper, 暫時還沒有方案, 不想馬虎推出, 所以暫時著手其他事宜。 HKFC: 2012動漫的X教授為何仍遲遲未有進一步消息?! Howard: 大家都都已經看過Sample(样板）, 電影公司亦批了。不過電影公司後來通知我們要自行再跟演員拿俏像權, 所以暫時擱置。 XMen的License比較複雜, 要跟逐位演員傾License（授权）問題, 當中有幾位已經傾妥, 只是還未決定先推出那一個角色。 002.JPG HKFC: 電影Back to the Future中的時光車成為今年焦點之一, 會否決定發售? Howard: 其實今次非常幸運, 於動漫節開始前一刻才完成Sample（样板）。個人當然希望能推出市場, 不過遲一點才決定吧! HKFC: 剛出大貨的步驚雲頭雕, 獲玩家一致好評。至於另一位主角聶風又沒有計劃於稍後時間推出? Howard: 原版的步驚雲頭雕一早已獲馬Sir批核, 只是我們覺得仍未夠好所以作出修改。其實我們知道大家的想法, 修改後相信大家會滿意吧。 至於聶風, 很抱歉暫時未有計劃。 HKFC: Ironman 全部的42個型號是否會全數推出? Howard: 眾所周知42個型號入面, 有很多都是 “左砌右砌”, 不能否定有全部推出的可能性, 但個別型號還是會繼續推出, 可能以限定的形式推出市場吧! 003.JPG HKFC: Brian, M.Y., Hyatt Howard: Mr Howard Chan 13572_817632468271590_7930582706838903541_n.jpg HKFC: 首先恭喜Viva 加入Hottoys, 有什麼感想嗎? Viva: 個人來說當然很開心, 亦十分榮幸加入了HT的大家庭。這裡是一直很想去很想工作的地方, 亦可向其他高手不斷學習。 HKFC: 由從前的個人創作到加入了Hottoys, 創作上有沒有不同的地方? Viva: 當然基本上所有東西都不同了, 隨了雕頭的方法外。以前獨立創作時可隨意雕自己喜歡的東西, 現在要聽來自四方不同的聲音, 亦能得到Hottoys的高手們指導。 HKFC: 可否透露一下將來有什麼計劃項目會參與創作, 及自己有沒有什麼一些角色很想參與創作? Viva: 目前大慨有3個project進行中。至於開於什麼, 很抱歉就不方便透露了。關於一直很想參與創作的其中一位角色, 是很多人都十分喜愛的TONY STARK。 HKFC: 現在會否感覺到壓力比以前大了? Viva: 這個當然了。加入了Hottoys這個大舞台後, 能更靠近了韓國頭雕師, 自己亦會作出比較, 看看自己有什麼不足, 我一直覺得自己還不夠強大, 創作上太慢,現在希望在Hottoys指導下斷進步。 HKFC: 你在雕頭時有沒有什麼習慣? Viva: 開頭大約80%都是依賴照片或其他設定資料的, 剩餘最後的20%就靠個人去找角色的神韻 HKFC: 有沒有計劃上有份參與上色的部份?
