Hooks escape Express behind Matt Baileys 10 strikeouts, 9-0 Sunday was a great day for Matt Bailey, as Matt threw a shutout to carry Hooks to a 9-0 victory over Express at Lively Park Field in seven innings. Matt struck out 10 hitters en route to the Hooks win. Hooks pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits. Six runs in the first three innings helped Hooks blow out Express. An RBI double by Rudy Lucas and a two-run single by Steven Mock during the second inning helped Hooks put some runs on the board early. Matt had two extra-base hits for Hooks. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the third and fifth innings. #15 couldnt get it done on the hill for Express, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked six and struck out three. Hooks got three-run rallies in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, Hooks scored on an RBI single by Josh Chumbley, bringing home Matt. Hooks increased its lead with three runs in the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Paul Taylor singled, plating Jonathan Toman and John Otterson. That was followed up by Rudys single, plating Matt.
