Hope And Peace ....The Story That goes along with this song Composed by the jazz group Hiroshima ........When this group toured Japan in the 80s they visited the city of Hiroshima to visit the peace memorial . there, Amidst reminders of the horrors of nuclear war was a tree of sorts , it was fashioned with literally A thousand Origami cranes , these cranes are a Memorial to a little girl named Sadako who when she was 11 she was hospitalized with Leukemia contracted from the exposure to the BOMB blast , Her friend told her if she made a thousand cranes her wish would come true and that she would live .... She had made 644 cranes when she finally passed away . As the story spread throughout Japan hundreds of children sent Origami cranes to the city of HIROSHIMA in Memeory of the little girl with a dream of peace .... Douglas :)
