Hope everyone is having a good Monday. We decided to take Faith on to the doctor this afternoon, as she started running a fever. As posted earlier, Faith has been vomiting over the weekend, and we have just been watching for any other signs to decide if she needed to go to the doctor. The doc said she had a slight temperature once we arrived. She did labs on her and Faith is dehydrated and has signs of coccidian, which is an infection. We gave her sub-Q fluids while at the doctors office and she also gave her a big dose of antibiotics. We have meds to give her for the next 10 days. She is very mellow, which is not like our Faith at all, so I know she is feeling bad. Hopefully getting the fluids and meds will make her feel better. I asked how she could get this infection with her being inside all the time, and the doc says Faith could have carried this since she was an infant. This could be one of the reasons Faith is so thin. All the other critters are doing well today. We do have one critter who is a bit under the weather, the Preacher Man (my mamas husband). He has been dealing with cold-like symptoms for abouot a week and mama made him go to the ER yesterday because he seemed to be getting a little worse. He was admitted last evening, and may get to come home tomorrow or the next day. His potassium is out of whack, and he is running a low-grade temp, so at his age the doc decided to keep him and monitor him. He is 83, but he is very active and seldom gets sick. I think he will be just fine and ready to eat by Thanksgiving. I havent met an old Baptist Preacher yet that you can keep away from a big dinner, and that man loves to eat. He is not a big man, but the way he loves food, one would think he would be overweight. Heres to a great evening for all of our Sandy Wayne family. Hugs and prayers for each and every one of you.
