Hope everyone is well and in the festive spirit and hope everyone are counting their blessings no matter what ye situation is hope ye know there is always a better tomorrow just round the corner :) I Havent updated for a few days about William for things have been at such a pace with lots of mixed emotions from this two month experience here in st .louis ..many realisations , some thats shocked me , saddened me , some thats been life changing , some thats tested me to the very core and wondered if I would even make it hour to hour never mind day to day ...but iam still here wiser , stronger and more determined than ever :) You all are aware of what happened and just how it petrified me and at one point really feared the worse for William ..but William being William fought back like a champ and astounds me with his resilience ..the past couple of days he is doing things I never imagined I would ever see him do , Iam discovering a whole different character and personality in him now he is out of pain and his body is free from spasticity despite the ordeal and huge set back from the second op and the spinal fluid leak its now past few days settled and in its placed left William a changed little lad .... one example , William has learned to take off his clothes from his waist up and likes to flash his abs at unexpected times to people laughing his head off ..hes also now able to bend his arms so well he can tweak his nipples giggling saying wow mum look at my titties ...he is now showing there will be no stopping him and when I put him to bed decided to get out of bed and stand up holding onto the bed laughing saying look at me mum am I your hero ..then he said to his sister come hold my hand sister Im going to walk for you mum and proceeded to take steps holding her hands towards me ...the list is endless ... Its been unbelievable what William has been up to the past few days and its been such a huge turn around from what its been like ...William could hardly move before this operation , he certainly couldnt undress , nor get out of bed on his own , nor could he reach parts of his body due to the tightness of his limbs ...the pain he was constantly in dampened any will to move with out really needing to and them it was truly limited and with great assistance and encouragement ..now even tho yes he needs full time care still and assistance he is becoming more independent and discovering a whole new world so many take for granted and is so easy and natural for them to do , is an amazing achievement to my son and mind blowing to me and those who know his suffering ....this operation not only is changing Williams life forever it is changing mine , his sisters , his entire family, all who love and know him .. SDR really does change lifes and for the government to not fund it and allow it on nhs for cerebral palsy sufferers in uk is disgusting , shameful and inhumane... from what was and could of been to what is now and what the possibilities are out there for William I think speaks for itself .. I know there is still a very long way to go and just want to thank everyone who helped us get to this point and that we are grateful for any continued support it is still very much needed, appreciated and never taken for granted ..William will make us all proud
