Hope in the Darkness Isaiah 9:1 I love the Book of Isaiah - TopicsExpress

Hope in the Darkness Isaiah 9:1 I love the Book of Isaiah because in the darkest moments of Israel’s history, in the very heart of its prophesies of destruction and despair, there is always hope, hope that shines from the blackness—the promise of something better to come: “Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever. The land of Zebulun and Naphtali will be humbled, but there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles, which lies along the road that runs between the Jordan and the sea, will be filled with glory” Isaiah 9:1 (NLT). During this trying time in Israel’s history, many of its people were staring serious trouble right in the face, but their merciful God took the time to comfort them with the promise that these difficult times would only be temporary, and, one day, they would be replaced with glory. God is the same today. We can claim these same promises—promises that God will not allow our troubles to go on forever; that, one day, He will return to fill the earth with His perfect glory. In the midst of our darkest hours, God reminds us of His ever-lasting promise of glory. Today, we can rest assured that this same God, the One Who rescued the Israelites time and time again from their darkest moments, will rescue us from our darkest moments, and will one day return to fill us with His glory. ~Randy & Trena Reed (via Walking through The Word)
