Hope to do a community forum on future of echo park I hope to do this on December 13. I had been hoping I could do this in October but yea so much came up in organizing in places like South Central la. it will at both old echo park and new echo park and it will look at all echo park communities. Sad to see decline of old chicanos in echo park yea brown community has a different organizing model. I see it every day I organize in echo park like last night. There are a lot of important issues to look at like historical redevelopment, changes in echo park society and creation of new echo park. I feel only way to understand old echo park yea old chicanos and their legacy. it is only way you can connect everything. yea people like Roberto, Carlos, Steve and Richard really taught me on old chicano organizing in echo park. I still push old chicano organizing in echo park it locks in good with crip organizing in South Central la yea Crips have always reflected old chicano organizing yea even a Echo park chicano gang is part of their alliance in South Central la today. To understand this you have to know old echo park. Old echo park chicanos still maintain their alliance with blacks. but new new echo park chicano/latino yea a different game. More on this later but yea Echo park an important place today in terms of changes of LA society.
