Hope you’re all having a pleasant Saturday evening …. Today’s post is all rather NONSENSICAL! coffscoastexposed.wordpress A nonsensical statement from previous post; Mr Spring states, “not valid” and “not related to the basin,” when referring to Barry and Norma’s land at 19 Bennett’s Road. This is but another strategy by CHCC to avoid paying fair and just compensation [$42.70 per sq.m] that was previously paid by RTA in 2010 for the land. There was no problem whatsoever when dealing with RTA. Why then does CHCC have such trouble with being fair and just? CHCC states; “Works are funded via a loan in accordance with Council resolution of 26 November, 2009, together with rate variation funding and approved grant funding under the floodplain management program.” “Sufficient funds are available in the budget to cover this land acquisition and the construction of the basin.” “Construction of the Basin is funded from a combination of Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) administered grant and the Flood Plan Management program in the ratio of 2:1. (ie Council to fund 1/3).” “Council has allocated sufficient funds in the flood mitigation budget to cover Council’s share of the construction costs.” Still … it’s as if CHCC senior staff is compensating out of their own overly inflated salary. Just how does CHCC justify not forwarding fair and just compensation to all landowners? CHCC has played one landowner against the other and chosen to compensate adjoining landowner top dollar of $83.76 per sq.m while offering a mere $3.70 per sq.m to Barry and Norma Mackay. But who cares? Who has put their hand up to help sort this atrocity? As CHCC’s unethical behaviour toward my parents has been long-term (refer History post) it makes me wonder if this is some sort of personal vendetta? Is that possible? If so, who started this and where are they now? Shouldn’t those people be held accountable for rolling the balls? As we know, “Council needs to own land or have control of and access where the physical structures of the detention basin are situated” [CHCC]. Pictures within this post were taken a few days after CHCC had “control of” land across the road where construction had already begun. Therefore, as I have already said, it is obvious that Barry and Norma’s land at 19 Bennett’s Road of which RTA/RMS had previously bought part thereof is very ‘valid’ and is very ‘related’ to the Bennett’s Road Detention Basin. Otherwise, there was no logical reason for CHCC and contractors to be on the land and there was no logical reason for CHCC and contractors to dam the creek, divert the flow through culverts and carry out revetment work on land on the South Eastern end of the Bennett’s Road Detention Basin.
