Hopewells Love is great! How can we create some LOVE in Old Towne? The Virginia Tourism Corporation is out to prove that “Love is at the heart of every Virginia vacation.” As part of the Virginia is for Lovers marketing campaign, VTC is encouraging local tourism offices to work with their local parks, destinations and attractions to create a LOVEwork locally that can be used to promote family-friendly tourism experiences. Several destinations have already created LOVEworks – Primland Resort created LOVE using nearly 2,000 golf balls. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts spelled out LOVE with people dressed as mummies to promote the mummy exhibit. This is an opportunity to be creative, connect your destination to the Virginia is for Lovers brand and enhance your social media outreach. You will want to do something large that connects directly to your unique travel experiences, in an area that can be photographed, and it can be temporary or permanent. How creative can you get? Here are some ideas to get you started: Spell out a giant LOVE in sea shells. Sew a LOVE quilt. Paint LOVE on the side of a barn off the highway. Use grape vines to spell out LOVE. Shape hay bales into a giant LOVE. Create a LOVE sand castle. Ready to share the LOVE for vacationing in Virginia?
