Horiana and I went to see A raisin in the sun by Lorraine - TopicsExpress

Horiana and I went to see A raisin in the sun by Lorraine Hansberry (1930-1965) yesterday as an Off Broadway show. When it premiered in 1959 it was the first play by an African-American woman to be produced on Broadway. Yesterday it starred Denzel Washington in the lead male role. The story is one of the intergenerational struggle of a black family through racism and identity formations in the search for authentic truth and selves. It could have been set in Pangaru, Ruatoria or Waitati. Except for Denzel of course. Te kaha o tana mauri!
