Horror movies today rely on jump scares and are terrible for that. - TopicsExpress

Horror movies today rely on jump scares and are terrible for that. Yet the industry milks the idea because they know people will see them, thus gaining profit. I want to see a horror movie that relies on something that makes me CRINGE, and sometimes scream. Not the other way around. Now, Im easily scared by jump scares, but I LOVE horror. There need to be more scenes that get under your skin, rather than make you jump. Like a supporting character escalating self-mutilation; from simple cuts to the wrists to pulling out their own hair, teeth, and eyeballs. Thats terrifying. Just an opinion I have opposing recent media.
