Horse/Utility Trailer For Sale $350.00 OBO Other uses for an old Horse Trailer :pinterest/explore/horse-trailers/ May. 3, 2009, 08:42 PM When my husband and I first started dating he laughed when I mentioned my friends and I using horse trailers to move furniture etc when moving to a new home. Most of my friends had moved using horse trailers or knew someone who had. I do wonder what the poor new neighbors thought when they saw us pull up with a horse trailer instead of a U-Haul... However when we moved into our new house he found out just how handy a 4H gooseneck was for moving ! Then his brother borrowed it to move from Fl to GA . Then a few of his friends asked to borrow the rig when they moved. Hubby then took the truck and horse trailer to some hunting land he leased bringing his 4 wheeler , fishing supplies , tents etc. His last adventure was a canoe trip where they loaded the back with canoes , paddles and coolers of beer. One of my horse friends saw my truck and trailer in a local gas station with the back door open and pulled in to see if there was a problem with one of my horses and said she was very surprised to see a bunch of guys in the back pouring ice in their beer coolers ! So what other uses have you found for your trailer ? Woodsperson May. 3, 2009, 08:46 PM My truck and trailer went camping with my sons boy scout troop last summer. I bought a stock trailer with a swinging slant wall so it would be as flexible as possible. Ive helped friends move, used it to pick up hay, thrown down a tarp in back and loaded with mulch, and helped a friend pick up goats from the stockyard. jubilee.eventing May. 3, 2009, 10:25 PM as a tack room.... Beverley May. 3, 2009, 10:28 PM When we moved from VA to UT, I had the horses shipped. The trailer housed the 5 cats, 2 snakes, and house plants for the trip west. onlyanarabian May. 3, 2009, 10:29 PM I actually had to pay someone this week to ship my horse to the trainer because my trailer was full of stuff that we got at an auction. It was worth it to pay instead of unloading everything (it took 2hrs to load) it was only 30 to move my horse. We also use it to haul shavings, hay, cattle for family and we have used it to pick up large loads of fencing. We got it new a year ago and it has had multiple uses it has proven to be worth every penny. JulesGirl May. 3, 2009, 11:06 PM At the moment, storing/hauling stuff to the flea market. My horse is unfortunately out of commission for the duration and my potential lease guy wont fit in my tiny trailer! ReSomething May. 3, 2009, 11:28 PM Storage. Then as a moving van, chock full of DHs tools, which is why it has four new tires, four new brakes and a new axle, and glad to have them going over some mountain passes too. Now so far it has brought home farm implements, straw bales and compost. It has been replaced for hauling stuff by a flatbed trailer with side rails, much easier to load palletized stuff on that, and is currently being storage again because DH wants to seal the new floor before he puts the mats down permanently. Hasnt hauled an animal for us yet, but I have hope. The guy we bought it from used it as a shelter out in the pasture, hauled truck farm produce, and mules. Foxtrots
